Kastler Court was named after Private Carl H. Kastler, born April 15, 1896. He was the only New Milford resident to serve in WWI. Carl enlisted in the Army on June 5, 1917 at the age of 22, and served with Company A of the 311th Infantry. He was discharged on September 28, 1918 due to pneumonia. There are no records on when the street was dedicated, but it was still a dirt road in 1972.
