Charles woulddeliver bread in the mornings and then got to school.n nCavalry: 1918 chased Poncho Villa, who used to cross over border at Tijuana to rob banks for revolution. Charles used to bivuack in Campo,Mex. Camp Lockett became Cavalry post; was the last Cavalry post.n nCavalry / Sp Am War: was in dead tent in Cuba (1898-1902) with YellowFever. Told him he looked too good and sent him away to recover.n nCavalry: Had two Navajo trackers. Chased Geronimo.n nCavalry: Would go to West Point to get recruits at graduation.n nHad a foot locker when kids were young. When he would leave, they would rush in to see what they could find in locker, i.e. candy, xmas gifts.n nCollected butterflies.n nWas custodian of L.A. Armory.n nCavalry: was in Fort Smith AR, Fort Grant AZ, Marfa TX, Fort Ogilthorpe GA, Monterey CA, Glendale CA.
