Black, prominent Washington lawyerand an overseas veteran of the World War, who died Sunday, were conductedthis morning at his residence, at 3614 Idaho avenue, by Rev. Charles T.Warner of St. Alban�s. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery.n nHe is survived by his widow, three small children, a brother, JamesM. Black of Shreveport, La., and an aunt, Mrs. J. B. Showalter, wife ofthe former Representative of Pennsylvania. He was the son of the lateRev. and Mrs. James T. Black of Boston and Detroit.n nMr. Black, formerly a member of the law firm of Stimson, Door &Bronson, opened an independent office when the partnership was dissolved,following the appointment of Mr. Stimson as Secretary of State. He was amember of the National Press Club, the Princeton Club and the AmericanLegion.n n nShe moved to Tampa sometime after her husband's death, where her youngestson and his second wife lived. We do not know if she lived with them.An obituary for her sister, Mrs. Myra Jane Conway, 86, of 1401 16thStreet, N.W., Washington, D.C. (Washington Post, Sunday 13 December 1938)lists her as "of Tampa, Fla."n n n"BUTLER PAPER" (BUTLER COUNTY RECORD?) hand dated June 26, 1944n nDEATHS Mrs. J. B. Showaltern nMrs. Ella McKee Showalter of Tampa, Fla., and a former resident ofButler, died at her home yesterday, according to word received here.n nMrs. Showalter was the widow of Dr. J. B. Showalter.n nShe leaves two daughters, Mrs. Milton Leggett and Mrs. A. W.McCandless, both of Pittsburgh.n nThe body will be brought to Butler with burial in the NorthCemetery.
